We have recently stocked our lochan with rainbow trout to join the brown trout we already have in there. The lochan is now full of fish so is an anglers dream as you are very likely to get lots of action. Everyone should experience the thrill of catching a fish on the fly as it takes some beating. We get hardcore anglers who just love the sport down to 7 yr old children catching their very first fish in front of their parents which is a pretty special moment to enjoy. See if you can catch one of our brownies as these guys are no fools and if you are really lucky you may just hook our tagged fish! A special prize awaits should you manage.
We've been making lots of improvements round Crubenbeg and we are always looking to improve the guest experience. Ash & Birch has just had new patio doors installed and look great. We are also just about to have shutters fitted to the outside of Ash, Birch & Cedar which are really going to make the outside look amazing. We are pleased to say that all cottages now have dishwashers so doing the dishes is now a thing of the past and you can spend more time relaxing. We have also finished the upgrades to all of our kitchens and each cottage now has modern white units.
We are making a big effort on our vegetable garden this year for guests to enjoy. We are looking to grow much more produce and a great selection for guests to help themselves. What nicer than using completely fresh produce to go along with your meal. You can also take something from our herb garden to garnish your dish.
Our flagship 4 bedroom property Fernlea has just had rates reduced for midweek and weekend stays so there has never been a better time to book a fantastic stay in this luxurious house. Fernlea has it all for a memorable stay.
Looking forward to welcoming new and old guests in 2016.

It has come very slowly, like fighting Winter, but finally there it is colorful and beautiful Spring with the first daffodils and early tulips. The grass is getting greener and greener every single day, buds spreading out all over the place so we are very thankful for the rain that gives them strength but also look forward to see more sunshine to warm them and open them up for more beautiful colors and make Crubenbeg more beautiful than ever.
We are still growing and improving ourselves. Our Ash and Birch cottages has got brand new white kitchens and installed dishwashers. Fire crews are investigating the cause of a blaze which damaged part of a 13th Century Scottish castle in the Cairngorms National Park. The fire, which broke out at about 2035 GMT on Thursday evening, ripped through the clock tower at Blair Castle near Blair Atholl, Cairngorms National Park. Firefighters contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the rest of the building. Blair Castle is the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl and dates back about 740 years. Seven fire crews battled to extinguish the blaze at the height of the blaze and three fire engines are still at the scene. A Tayside Police spokesman said there was a "significant amount of damage" to the clock tower. He said no-one was injured and the cause of the fire had not yet been determined. A spokeswoman for Tayside Fire and Rescue Service said the roof and second floor of the clock tower had collapsed into the first floor. www.blair-castle.co.uk
